Williamsburg is filled with hipster friendly restaurants and bars and El Almacen fits the bill to a tee. The fare, Argentinean with major hints of Mexican, is reasonably priced but less than original, and while a BYOB is always nice for the pocket, it certainly takes away from what this bedroom-sized restaurant is attempting to do; and that is to feign an East Village mentality. Despite the cutesy décor and authentic Argentine music, this place has little to offer when compared to all the other top-notch, unique establishments downtown Williamsburg has to offer.
el almacen is amazing! i came across this review which is the only one that has a negative thing to say. the food is wonderful (empanadas, churrasco, guac, costilla de res) and the envirnment is lovely. i think you should reconsider this review. its completely off and misleading! i totally recommend this little restaurant and the staff is very good looking too ;)
