Tickets, hand stamps, paper bracelets, high-tech ID checkers, and a full-on frisk at the door? If ever there were a mini-mega club, it’s Element. Housed in the former bank where club Chaos also once resided, this is unlike anything the Lower East Side has seen in a while. Street-cred parties like Turntables on the Hudson come here to entertain a crowd that just wants to dance. While the omnipresent speakers are ground-rattling, this three-floor space itself is less than earth-shattering. The spacious main floor is awash with blue and purple lighting coming from the wrap-around balcony above. It’s up there that the house-heavy DJs call home. Downstairs is a cave-like lounging area of exposed stonewalls, which will surely be put to use on busy weekends when people from everywhere but Element’s neighborhood come to play.
Had my 25th here on a sat in Aug.It was a reggae party had lots of fun. I dodnt rate a 5 b/c the manager is a snake . We were buying pitchers of mixed drinks all nite in addition to the bottles and he comes over and say unless we buy more bottles we had to leave the vip.Bad way to conduct business. The place was also PACKED like wall to wall packed. If I didnt have vip I would have never stayed.Besides that the dj was great and club was decent and clean.
