Fat Black Pussycat:
The sign outside Fat Black Pussycat says it’s “Where Friends Meet.” This is true, assuming they can find you. (On a busy night this place gets more hits than Paris’s Sidekick.) Conversation may be tricky over the din of the crowd (“This place rocks!”, “What? Nuns in frocks? Where?”), but dig deeper and you’ll discover two completely different spaces: The back room is pure Moroccan lounge, the downstairs club all sexy sophistication. Fat Black Pussycat is a success because it has a little bit of everything, whether you’re into pool, darts, dancing, or a DJ. With over 40 beers and a large cocktail selection, you’re sure to find something to wet your whistle.
I celebrated a birthday there a couple of yrs ago and i had a wonderful time, dancing drinking and enjoying the company of my frineds and family.....I would love to go there again this yr for my 36th Birthday!!!

I haven't been for a while, but I used to come here a lot. They have great happy hour, good prices for pitchers of beers, and friendly staff. The back room is not as loud and you are able to enjoy a converstaion.

Surprisingly enough fat black pussycat isn't always filled with NYU kids. The drinks and huge tv's make this a great alternative to sports bars.
