Fatta Cuckoo: Though a restaurant name that New Yorkers will likely read as “fat crazy” isn’t exactly appetizing, (the real translation is “to make crazy,” which isn’t much better), it’s surprisingly apt. If you can squeeze your “fatta” behind into the cozy space, you're in for a night of insane flavor combinations…just take a look at their specialty cocktails ($8). The Bull Shot is a combination of Tito’s Vodka, beef broth, Worcestershire, Tabasco and lemon (that’s right, it’s got beef broth mixed in), and the Prairie Fire is a blend of Herradura tequila and Tabasco (likely to light your fire). The food offerings are slightly more subdued yet still unique, featuring a Franco-Pan Asian inspired menu, ex. chicken liver pâté with cornichons ($9). Make a night of it and split a dessert like the chocolate ganache hearts ($4), with your tablemate. You won’t have to go far to reach the fork. |
