The fact that English is becoming the second language in Downtown New York means nothing when you step into Fig & Olive's soaring expanse of Mediterranean bliss. The only words you need to know upon entering are "olive oil" and "wine." With some 36 hand-selected wines available by the bottle (27 by the glass) and a cocktail list featuring rosemary and dill infused martinis, this 5,000-square-foot EVOO paradise is sure to entrance even the most thick-headed Meatpacker. If you're feeling social, grab a seat at the marble bar. If not, hide out in the white curtained corner. Either way, the unique drinks and dynamic menu will have you forgetting about all the tacky limos sitting outside - unless it's yours, of course.
