Bloomingdale’s burger joint might have been more aptly name Flop. Tucked in the lower level near the men’s department (what better place to stash the meat?), this (thankfully) hidden eatery more closely resembles something you'd expect from a different retailer: IKEA. A small nook contains a few haphazardly scattered tables, white table tops supported by stainless steel and lightly-stained wooden floors, all showcased in unflattering flourescents. Ironically enough, Flip’s main attraction is also a pretty IKEA-like concept: you can “CR(EAT)E” your own burger. But you'll have an easier time picking out a hand-bag, as your food options include nine patties, twelve sauces, eight cheeses and four “extras,” encased in six organic buns...and perhaps a partridge in a pear tree. The only thing non-average about the resulting patty is the price: around $15-17 after you've accessorized it. We didn't even Flip for the taps ($7), wine ($8-$11) or the cocktail list. Two words: Signature Fliptini. Not well done.
