Frying Pan:
In nice weather, the young and the single flock to this popular outdoor bar on the Hudson to pound Coronas and do some serious flirting. Frying Pan hosts a healthy pick-up scene, but for those not interested, there are plenty of tables to escape to on the historic lightship-turned-bar. With a nautical décor so authentic you might think you stepped onto the set of Jaws, impeccable views in every direction, and ping-pong and foosball tables, this spot is still a classic New York experience. Standard pub fare like burgers and BBQ ribs can be ordered from a self-service counter, and Friday and Saturday nights feature DJs. Visit during the afternoon or early in the week for a calmer vibe, and at dusk, climb to the observation deck for one of the best sunset views in all of Manhattan. Open from May to October, noon–1am.
Crowded, poor service wait forever for stupid plastic cups, rude staff....- if they gave it away free I wouldnt go back. I would rather be with real humans.
