Fusha Asian Cuisine:
One of the original super-sleek pan-Asian restaurant lounges of its kind, Fusha Asian Cuisine is celebrating its seventh anniversary this year. In "restaurant years," seven New York anniversaries equals, give or take, about thirty-five—so Fusha is doing pretty well. Minimal in design, the place is split into a bar area, a dining room and an outdoor seating space on the sidewalk during warmer weather. A forest of Beachwood tree trunks separates the after-work bar scene from diners, but both groups are chock-full of young professionals attracted to Fusha's Zen design. Considering Fusha's accents—from Iranian marJan ceramics to a trickling rock waterfall in front of exposed sushi chefs—this joint is the epitome of tranquility. But don’t expect this place to turn into your Midtown after-hours haunt: petite cocktails are $12, and the place firmly closes before midnight every day.
