By now, pretty much everyone who’s been to the Meatpacking District knows Gaslight is one of the few easily accessible haunts in this otherwise who-do-you-know neighborhood. Its younger brother, the adjacent G2, is every bit as friendly and even a bit more subdued. A mature crowd meanders between wood floors and pressed-tin ceilings, which give G2 the feel of an upscale whiskey bar with rustic rural banquet hall nuances. DJs spin poppy tunes at a level that’s fun and not earsplitting, which means those hoping to hook up will have to rely on their conversation skills. Imagine that in the Meatpacking District. Throw in lots of good-looking people (yes, it's not all about conversation here) and cozy booths, each with its own retractable curtain and dimmable lamp, and…surely you can take it from here.

G2 is fabulous spot to hang out with old friends and make new ones. I went to G2 after grabbing dinner at Vento in the Meatpacking District and it was a wonderful laid back atmosphere with a very friendly crowd. Definitely head out to G2 Wednesday - Saturday and you will not regret it!!
