Gin Palace: Of all the gin joints in town, this is the one you’re gonna want to walk into. The team behind Death & Co., rum room Cienfuegos, and bitters bar Amor y Amargo continue isolating spirits with a gilded room devoted exclusively to that juniper tipple. With gin and tonic on tap ($7) and a dozen other predominantly gin cocktails ($10-$11), you better like your botanicals. The “Victorian”-inspired cocktail list includes such highlights as "The Old Maid", "Love on a Farm Boy’s Wages", and the "Police & Thieves" with requisite gin classics like the martini, Negroni and Pimm’s Cup also available. The room may be a “palace” but it’s relaxed and almost divey, with jet black walls, comfy bleacher seating and loud rock blaring throughout. A mish-mash food menu includes eats British (beans on toast, $10), German (currywurst, $12) and even Indian (samosa, $10)—none exactly big enough to make a meal of, but sufficient for snacking. Here’s a place even broody Rick Blaine would like!
