GMT Tavern:
GMT (short for Greenwich Mean Time) is a British Tavern that’s about as British as its clientele…not at all. Expect a Disney version of a British pub with fake mahogany tables, leather pleated seats, and an Absolut cocktail flavored to taste like a cup of tea (titled “GMTeatime”). Still an upgrade from its Senor Swanky’s days, tall windows pave the way for open-air seating within, where orange chandeliers dangle from the high ceilings and a traditional English clock with 24 numbers presides above wait staff in tuxedo vests. Unfortunately, dim mood lighting paired with the kind of ear-splitting soft rock and disco tunes reserved only for cruise ship DJ's and bar mitzvah receptions quickly derail any sense of serenity. There are some brews imported from Greenwich and a wide selection of beers, incongruously served alongside several kinds of sangria and berry-infused vodka mash-ups. The most authentic aspect of GMT? With a half pint priced at $9, it almost feels like you’re paying in pounds.
