Good World Bar & Grill:
CLOSED. This quiet little strip of Orchard Street used to be in a neighborhood that, well, wasn’t a neighborhood. Now, it’s the New Lower East Side, where hotel builders and Upper East Siders still fear to tread. This lodgey bar and restaurant is still ahead of its time. The crowd is real downtowners—not Ludlow Street refugees, and not Meatpacking District sheep, but people who live here. Well, that’s true of the folks who aren’t from Sweden anyway. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed Nordics pack this cute spot for old world cuisine like Swedish burgers and Norwegian shrimp. Did you know those things existed? Groove DJs spin Thursday-Saturday, and the small back patio acts as a smoker’s safe haven where one can puff away without putting down their Stellas.
This place rocks! Had my birthday here a year ago and everyone was really nice. Lots of good memories.

Great place for when you miss home, the food is not bad, and even though the Swedish beer they have to offer is not the best, it sure is nice to drink something Swedish sometimes. The place is pretty small, but the crowd is friendly and it’s easy to strike up a conversation with a stranger at the bar. Probably going by tonight, cause it’s midsummer…..
