Designed around and inspired by the golden age of the Industrial Revolution, Meatpacking hot-spot Griffin has embraced both the décor and rowdy decadence that came with shameless, unregulated wealth.Ergo, if you aren’t ready to hit four figures for table service—which doesn’t even get you into the VIP-occupied terrace—you may be sardined among the star-gazers and other flaneurs. Unfortunately, the floor plan makes it difficult to find the bar, hidden as it were through a labyrinth of dapper gentlemen and young girls (who may have had $36 too much of the $18 mixology-prepared cocktails). Luckily, if you choose to peruse, Griffin's doormen protect this treasure with less steely-eyed vigilence than the namesake beast itself (meaning, they'll actually let you in). Caution: Watch out for girls attempting to hang from the ostentatious chandeliers.
