Absolutely lesbo-rific. That’s the only way to describe a place that features weekly nights dedicated to Jell-O wrestling, thong contests, reggae, hip-hop, disco, and salsa. Great DJs spinning ’80s tunes, gorgeous go-go girls, and pool tables round out a fun-loving lounge that caters to a wide range of ages and styles. The bartenders are friendly, and the after-work happy hour Monday through Friday has a warm neighborhood vibe. Be prepared for big crowds on the weekends, which means cramped space and lots more chicks to choose from. Drinks are well poured and reasonable, and body shots are encouraged. A legendary place, Henrietta Hudson is a girl-on-girl gift from above.
I gave this only 3 stars for the main reason that it is tiny, not much of a dance floor, and there is hardly any seating. A pool table at the back has just enough room for a good game, and the bartenders and bouncers are friendly and approachable. Men are only allowed in if they're on the guestlist so this is a primarily women-only zone which is great if you're sick of going to gay bars, only to find that half the men there are straight and on the prowl for a 3-some with a pair of lesbian girlfriends. They just don't seem to realize that lesbian means no men, but oh well, back to HH, the drinks were strong, but small, and reasonably-priced $7 for a pint of beer, and the same for a rum & coke. Not a bad place at all!! I felt a bit out of place as a newcomer as most of the girls bring a friend, but did eventually come out of my shell enough and have a few good conversations with the other partiers!
