Henry's Rooftop Bar at The Roger Smith Hotel: While the rooftop at The Roger Smith Hotel might lure you in with charming strung lanterns and candle-lit tables, once you’ve been roped in, you’ll realize you’ve been taken. Their specialty cocktails are, in fact, not special at all—they’re made with sugary, synthetic ingredients, served in tiny plastic cups and, at $12 an alcohol-free thimble-full, are extremely overpriced. They have two beers on draft ($7), and all the other beers they serve are canned (no, not bottled...canned) and go for the same silly $7 price-tag. The food selection is interesting…in that it is interesting they would serve crap like specialty hot dogs ($5-$7) and BBQ chicken ($13) at a gourmet rooftop. The Midtown view is mediocre at best, which seems to be par for the course at this underwhelming venue. The bottom line here: like its beer, this place should get canned.
