Miss Miami? Make your way past the doorman and follow the signs through the maze-like service entrance and you’ll find the elevator that will take you to this rooftop bar atop the Times Square Hilton Hotel. Panoramic views of the Hudson give way to urban chic decor of daybeds, bamboo cabanas, movie screens, and, for those steamy city nights, outdoor AC. Even skinny little things will have a hard time resisting the aroma of the barbecued grub to go along with cocktails (priced between $16 and $18). There’s a little nook for the bottle service crowd with an oversized “UFO” couch and wonderfully large, plush pillows. Given its Times Square location, it’s no surprise that there are plenty of suits kicking back on the daybeds, so come later on if the after-work crowd isn't your scene.
I held an event for my company at Highbar and could not be more disappointed in the choice. The event manager promised that there would be heaters, a coat/bag check, and a bathroom attendant on the night of our event...none were there. He also had to be hounded repeatedly just to answer simple questions. The food that we ordered was "put in the wrong spot" on the contract and was therefore never served. All in all, there are way better rooftop venues in NYC that have more accomodating staff.

Avoid at all costs. Doormen are jerks, we were a group of 5 or 6 attractive girls that wanted 2 or 3 guys to come up with us, they said we had to spend another $500 in addition to the $400 bottle we already bought! I know that outdoor spaces in the city are at a premium, but this one is totally not worth it. In fact, a couple of weeks later my boyfriend went with 2 other guys (not realizing it was the same place I had the bad experience at) and when the doorman said they coudln't go up, HE even said "don't worry guys, its not that great." Enough said.
