Hop Devil Grill:
If beer isn’t your thing, then keep on walking. Hop Devil Grill (brother bar to David Copperfield’s on the Upper East Side) serves up over 50 kinds of exotic suds. The beer selection is epic: Got a hankerin’ for Sri Lankan? Lithuanian? Why not! The pub grub is pretty standard; alcohol is the main attraction. Theme nights and beer festivals keep the kids coming back for more. (Wednesday is “Kill the Keg!” with $3 pints of craft beer.) It’s pretty down and dirty at this hopped-up watering hole, which is exactly the way the Devil likes things.
We frequently visit Hop Devil Grill throughout the week. The happy hour is killer with all of their draft beers, wine and liquor 1/2 off. When there are 30 different draft beers to choose from, its pretty special.
Almost every day of the week there are significant specials, such as their $1 tacos on Tuesdays, $10 pitchers of sangria an Wednesdays and 50% off hamburgers on Sunday.
The thing is, Hop Devil doesn't get the recognition it deserves for food quality. While others are enjoying tacos from trucks and Mercadito, I am getting a better value for higher quality of food right on St. Marks Place. The tacos really are excellent, especially the Baja Fish Tacos and Steak Tacos, which are so flavorful. The burgers are really solid here too.
But, Hop Devil Grill isn't just that simple. Its also a night life spot. They have an incredible sound system, and a great selection of music that really fits their casual, artsy scene. Not to mention service. From the great, beer genius bartenders to the wait staff, everyone at Hop Devil Grill is extremely friendly. So, as you can see, I love Hop Devil Grill and I know you will too.

This is not the place for people looking to enjoy a romantic dinner over candlelight, but if you enjoy really good and adventurous beer together with a great burger, this is the place for you. They offer beer from a variety of countries and their burgers had some spin to them too. I enjoyed a turkey burger with spicy cheese and ketchup, washed down with a great wheat beer. Next time I’m in the mood for a great turkey burger and beer, this is where I’m coming.
