Hudson Eatery: Take everything you love about your corner diner (the huge menu, the late hours, the all-day breakfast) and then subtract everything you don’t (the dingy booths, the painfully bright lighting, the faint lingering aroma of tuna fish). What you’re left with is Hudson Eatery, a glittery new comfort food haunt so far West it might as well be in Jersey. Catering to the movers and shakers at the nearby CBS building, by day Hudson Eatery is just that, an eatery, but by night the design by bluarch (Greenhouse) easily creates a more clubby atmosphere. Like a diner, everything on the menu is good, but not great (and that extends to the cocktail list—stick to the Sangria!), and the service can be a tad unreliable, but when was the last time you went to Moonstruck and felt compelled to start an impromptu dance party? |
