Hudson Terrace
Don't be fooled by the short elevator ride. The onetime event space, converted to a more democratic rooftop bar, offers a great view of the Hudson (Fourth of July anyone?) and some delicious, if not slightly pricey drinks. At $16 a pop, grand margaritas are the bartender's drink of choice, but for those wary of tequila, the Brown Sugar Mojito or the Brazilian lemonade are tasty (careful, they're potent too). For cheaper options (and a way to make it home in respectable form) there's the usual beer fare and an array of appetizers. By drink two, we were trailing a waiter carrying a mouth-watering tray of smoked salmon nachos ($14) and truffled edamame dip ($11). The crowd is a mix of 20-somethings and older professionals, and the bartenders are easygoing. Another bonus? Specialty drinks are half price from 5 to 7. Open Sun 2pm-8pm (brunch), Tue 5pm-10pm, Wed 5pm-10pm, Thu 4pm-10pm, Fri 3pm-10pm.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE!!!

WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I had booked a triple bday party here through a promoter and had 90 - 100 guests/friends coming, did not get ANYTHING we were prmised when we booked. We were promised "VIP entry" for our bdays per their website and our deal meaning our friends just had to say either of our names and get in no problem/wait on a separate line and we didn't have to wait in any crazy lines. We were promised what we thought was an amazing open bar deal = $50 for 2 hours includes everything except top shelf, but shots and red bull were included. A group of 15 - 20 people and 2 of the bday girls got there at 10:40 pm - they go to the front and ask where they should enter because it's their bday party and the door guy said "that's great, we have bday parties here every wknd, get in the back of the line" waited in line for almost an hour until 11:30pm only to discover the open bar is well liquor only - NO shots and NO red bull! I got to Hudson Terrace at 11:15pm and I am supposed to ask for Eddie Q at the door, I tell him it's my bday and he ignores me, I'm yelled at to get to the back of the line - so this so-called "VIP entry" is non-existent/nothing but lies! I wait in line for an hour and at 12:20 am finally get to the front of the line and 1 of the other bday girls comes down to try and get me in because it's 1/3 my bday party. So I asked if we could get open bar extended since I wasn't getting in until 12:20 am and they only extended it 15 min from 1 am to 1:15 am, was supposed to start at 11 pm. I said it wasn't worth it for me and my friends to pay $50 for open bar for less than an hour but we will go upstairs and just not do open bar then. The promoter previously verified the details of our party with Eddie Q at the door and Pedro the manager, and was shocked to find out plans were changed and was trying to, at the minimum, extend the open bar another hour for us. Eddie Q and other door guys said they cannot let me or my friends in if we are not doing open bar and I said it's not fair to pay for it if we will only be drinking for a max of 45 min and well liquor at that! The promoter gets there to try and salvage the party, at this point a bunch of my friends left during this that were waiting in line with me (keep in mind it is 12:30am at this point and I am dead sober on my bday). I was annoyed, and said it was not fair but mostly complained to the promoter, he tried to fix it and the door guys told him that I was screaming at them which while I had every right to, I did not and had about 40 also sober friends with me and witnesses with me to verify that I never once raised my voice, so they lied. We decided F this place, I was EXTREMELY frustrated with the disaster the night was turning into and re-routed my entire bday party to The Hill on 3rd Ave between 29th and 30th had managed to salvage the night (The Hill by the way is a gem! We were able to book a $50 open bar for 2 hours once we got there, no line and no mess, GREAT music - definitely recommend The Hill!!!!!!). I sent out a facebook email blast as I was leaving Hudson and all my friends quickly switched venues and so did the other 2 bday girls. I am now boycotting this place - so poorly run and unorganized, I am so annoyed with how Saturday went that I am dedicating today to writing bad reviews all over the internet. STAY AWAY FROM HUDSON TERRACE!!!! DO NOT BOOK YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE!!

I went to the cinco party at Hudson Terrace last night and it was THE most fun event. The Real Housewives of NYC were there (reason enough) but the DJ was the sickest DJ i''ve heard in a long time. It was a little low on "Cinco" festivities but no big deal, it was still a great party.

Thanks for the brunch tip, I will definitely have to check that out. As for their grand opening, I was surfing through Going.com and came across their event. Apparently they have specials going on all week including a free drink if you rsvp@hudsonterracenyc.com. I'm sure their website has more details or here's the link at Going: http://newyork.going.com/event-595913;Hudson_Terrace-_Grand_Opening_on_Cinco_de_Mayo?comment_thread=268129#comment_268129

So I attended brunch at Hudson Terrace this past weekend and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was great as was the food. The crowd was young and chill and ready for the summer weather. I loved being able to enjoy the sun out on the patio with a sangria in hand! It was a bit crowded and warm, I hope they adjust the surroundings, add some shaded areas to accommodate the impending summer, but who can control the sun? I still dug the vibe.
The food spread ranged from omelettes, to french toast, to fresh smoked salmon. I'd recommend the oven roasted potatoes!
They also mentioned that they are having their grand opening on Cince de Mayo....anybody have info on that? I'd check it out to see how the place functions as a bar/lounge.

This place was super classy. We had our opening night party here with some pretty intense industry people and everyone was impressed!

The rooftop offers some great views of the Hudson with the Intrepid as a kind neighbor. The staff was dead set on making our party what WE wanted and provided the best of service.

I hear that it will be opening to the public on Cince de Mayo, so I am interested and excited to see this venue become a staple in NY nightlife because I'll be there! It's definitely higher class than a lot of bars/lounges on the Lower East Side. So if you want something new and different, I'd recommend!
