Hudson Terrace: Don't be fooled by the short elevator ride. The onetime event space, converted to a more democratic rooftop bar, offers a great view of the Hudson (Fourth of July anyone?) and some delicious, if not slightly pricey drinks. At $16 a pop, grand margaritas are the bartender's drink of choice, but for those wary of tequila, the Brown Sugar Mojito or the Brazilian lemonade are tasty (careful, they're potent too). For cheaper options (and a way to make it home in respectable form) there's the usual beer fare and an array of appetizers. By drink two, we were trailing a waiter carrying a mouth-watering tray of smoked salmon nachos ($14) and truffled edamame dip ($11). The crowd is a mix of 20-somethings and older professionals, and the bartenders are easygoing. Another bonus? Specialty drinks are half price from 5 to 7. Open Sun 2pm-8pm (brunch), Tue 5pm-10pm, Wed 5pm-10pm, Thu 4pm-10pm, Fri 3pm-10pm.
