i Lounge:
Located within the Hotel Gramerci and nestled below restaurant i (see a pattern developing?) comes i lounge, rounding out the Flatiron District with its world beats and creative cocktails. Following the restaurant’s theme of rotating colors, the lounge is lit in purples, blues and greens which permeate through a piece of gold thatched wall art. While the leather banquettes and bottle service scream generic lounge, the bar offerings are more surprising. The most common beer on the menu is a Stella, while the rest are domestic craft brews ($7-$8) with the exception of two Japanese imports including the hard-to-find Hitachino Nest ($12). The unique cocktails ($12-$14) like the Black Tea Mojito—Cruzan single barrel, Tavalon’s black tea, mint, lemon—will, if nothing else, please visiting guests who haven’t already been inundated with speakeasy-style creations. The main appeal though, is that folks in the neighborhood no longer have to hop a cab crosstown to get their dance on…finall-i!
