Il Bastardo:
Hey, we'd gladly claim to have sired this place. Named for its brand of "fat" house wine, this modern Tuscan eatery from the owners of Nero and Sette offers mid-priced, casual dining in a cavernous space that doubles as a wine bar. Pasta, steak, and seafood make up the bulk of the menu, and the prime aged porterhouse for two ($60) is the makings of a date in red meat heaven. Snag an outdoor table in warm weather for prime Chelsea people-watching, or sit inside and reflect on yourself—the ceiling is mirrored.
first time here at this restaurant and i loved it. The food was great and I'm a picky eater. I would definitely go back.

We really enjoyed this restaurant, nice setting, good food. We had a larger party - made reservations and got seated right away in the back room which was very comfortable and intimate. Two of our party members sat at the bar while they waited for us to arrive. Have their Il Bastardo wine (you may have seen it in stores, we found the wine a few months before we realized there was a restaurant!) Service may be slower at busy times so go here if you are not rushing and want a nice relaxing dinner that we felt was reasonably priced for the city. Then hit the other fun clubs/lounges/bars in the area!
