Indian Road Cafe: Located way up North on the border of the Bronx, The Indian Road Café is the ultimate one-stop-shop for those willing to make the trek all the way to Inwood. It combines a full bar, extensive restaurant (furnished with chairs from the Sopranos set, oh la la!) and cute little café into one expansive space, so you may find it hard to get back on that train downtown once you take a seat. Although the interior itself is low-key, you’ll be wowed by the variety of food that this place has to offer, serving everything from hearty lobster macaroni and cheese (a real cholesterol-fest, $18), to marinated skirt steak ($22) and the “potato du jour” (classy! $5). When you’re done getting your grub on, the IRC’s bar is stocked complete with everything from the finest liqueur (for those of you feeling fancy) to cheap well drinks, as well as brews and wine galore—try one of their delicious cocktails (like the honey-and-elderflower-infused Bison Drop, $10). Make the most of your journey Uptown by hunkering down on a Wednesday, when IRC turns everything up a notch for trivia night. Sit back down—looks like you’re in for the long haul.
