J. Mac's Lounge:
Forget the ubiquitous trendy lounges with fussy cocktails and fashionably underfed hipsters trying desperately to impress, J. Mac’s crowd is primarily local pier and construction workers looking to relax after a long day’s work. The frills here include tossing back $4 beers, watching the regulars rack 'em up at the pool table, and tuning in to vintage rock. Happy hour is not a set time but an everyday occurrence. Hey, in this city, it doesn’t get much cheaper than a cold $3.50 brew. It may be an older gathering of locals, but the few intrepid stragglers seem satisfied with the low-key, laid-back ambiance. It’s OK to leave home without the plastic because only greenbacks are accepted here.
J. Mac's doesn't pretend to be a hot lounge or pretentious nightspot. In fact, if that's what you're looking for, they don't want you. But if you are unassuming and looking for some no-nonsense bartenders (who are not also model/actresses in the BEST sense), try it out.

Dive-y bar in bad location with velvet rope prices
This is truly a dive bar, not a trendy place made to look like a dive bar, but one whose decorating budget was a can of paint, some plywood and a neon sign back in 1975and things haven't changed since.
That's fine if you don't charge $8 for a well drink and there are no shots cheaper than $8. No excuse for drinks being this expensive in a place like this, in such an out of the way place too. Maybe its cheaper at happy hour but this was the prices after 8 pm.
