When you’re looking for a karaoke experience a step above your favorite BYOB K-town joint, Japas 38 is a solid option. With over 107,000 songs (in almost every language imaginable) to choose from, you can stretch those vocal cords at the bar for $1.50 a song, or rent one of 12 private party rooms for $8 an hour per person. A full drink list and food menu are available (items range from edamame to bento boxes), but your best bet is to do the two-hour party package ($35 per person, $45 for the premium sushi package), which includes a slightly-too-small private room, an assortment of greasy appetizers, and all-you-can-drink specials (can you say sake bombs?). Otherwise, swing by for happy hour (4pm-7pm daily) where tap beer and house wine are 50% off and party rooms are just $4 an hour. Late night revelers be warned—it’s hard to say no to another round when all it takes is ringing a buzzer to have your drinks delivered, and those $7 cocktails sure add up.
