Okay, so eight design students walk into a bar…. Sound like the beginning of a joke? Not this time! It’s the beginning of a new-age English gastropub that’s sure to make you happy even without the punch line. Look to the Kupersmith coat of arms featuring the motto “Inkslay and Inksdray” for their Pig Latin advice on how to get an evening going: eat links and drink up! Indulge in the battered sausage link (battered with beer and Bloody Mary ketchup, $9) with a three-cheese sauce and grandma’s ketchup on the side. Or, try the toad in the hole: two any-style bangers and Yorkshire pudding with gravy ($12). Swig from one of six beers on tap ($4-$7) or, if you’re feeling in the mood to drink something as well designed as the bar itself, try a cocktail like the Lesgarita (tequila, elder flower liqueur and fresh lime juice, $10). No matter what kind of meal you design, Kupersmith will, er, make it work!
