Kyma seems oddly misplaced on the row of debauchery that is Eighth Avenue. Just steps away from several porn stores and low-end tourist t-shirt shops, Kyma (which means “wave” in Greek) is a spacious restaurant (19-foot ceilings!) that serves equally ample portions of Greek classics. But you’re going to pay handsomely for them. Lamb souvlaki rings in at $17.95 and moussaka is $18.95. Add a bottle from their 30-deep wine list (mostly Greek), dessert of baklava ($4), and after-dinner ouzo, and dinner could cost more than a Broadway show.
