L'Oubli Gourmet Bar: Let’s face it, a lot of us like to give the French a hard time (you know the whole not-showering, arrogant, rude, anti-American thing we like to stereotype them with)…but the ratatouille, charcuterie and signature cocktails at L’Oubli (French for “Oblivion”), are sure to have even the biggest hater shouting Vive La France! Catering to no more than 55 people at a time and offering up three different cocktails ($9) every week—a modern, a classic and an original—this French gourmet bar will make you whip out your berets and shout “ooh, la la!” Got that timeless Coco Chanel feeling? Try the Aviator (maraschino, gin, and lemon juice). Does sultry First Lady Carla Bruni tickle your fancy? Try the Smoke and Fire (mezcal, Ransom Old Tom Gin and Averna). Don’t forget to ask if there’s a cocktail you love that’s no longer listed, because the friendly bartenders are happy to shake it up for you. With a rotating beer list (tap coming soon) and about 20 wines to choose from, at L’Oubli you’ll live la belle vie. |
