Renowned local chef Allan Feldman has taken a hard right turn from his previous successes in French and New American culinary with this, his very own Mexican cevicheria on the LES. The menu is heavily focused on seafood, ranging in everything from fish to octopus, with a few beef, chicken and veggie exceptions in between. As far as bars go, there’s a small but respectable raw one as well as a heavily Latin-influence beer and wine bar area, too. The service is perfectly amicable, and while the whole place looks dingy at first, it’s actually kind of easy to get cozy. If you’re planning on coming here to chow down, make sure to arrive before the night crowd—or rather, the night mob—shows up and all but takes over the joint. Open Tues.-Sat. 5pm-1am.
