La Estufa: This Inwood grubbery’s like the United States of Benetton got put in a blender, shaken up and served: enter into a pseudo Tuscan décor, paired with an Italian-American menu, splashed with the Puerto Rican/Dominican culture of the nabe and you’ve got La Estufa. The Broadway spot recently expanded, adding a full bar, lounge and weekly events like Brazilian Latin jazz night and hookah nights. That’s not all it’s got goin’ on—drink specials like $4 drafts, $6 sangria, $15 beer buckets and a good helping of club music crooning at the bar brings in Inwood locals and transplants alike, but the fare, like the “Churrasco” (grilled skirt steak sauced with chimichurri, $17), the “Salmone Grigliato” (grilled salmon topped with capers sauce, mashed potatoes and spinach) and a delectable tiramisu (only $6), is what makes ‘em stay.
