Le Petite Maison:
Located in the lower levels of a stately midtown mansion, any of The Real Housewives of New York City might have very well been displaced during the building of restaurant La Petite Maison—and you’d better believe they are clawing their way back in. The linen-covered dining tables along with the fireplaces and pop-art collections, give the illusion of dining in an elegant home sans the stuffy, ladies-who-lunch vibe. While the front rooms resemble the Rockefeller estate it once was, the back room evokes a sense of outdoorsiness with palm trees and luscious, pillowed booths to fall into. As for the food, it's oil, oil everywhere—everything from seafood to spaghetti is bathed in the olive or truffle varieties. The European staple is even incorporated into the décor—climbing shelves display bottles of olive oil along one wall as it they were objects d'arte. Midtown execs and their mistresses and mothers alike will feel at home tasting the French fare and sipping on sangria, while contemporary and jazz tunes sound out at a level just high enough to drown out the buzzing declarations of "The luxury market is back."
I went there with a client last night and found it to be one of the best restaurants in the city. The service is commensurate with any French restaurant (asking 3x for a glass of water - but that was expected). The chateaubriand, the Truffle themed sides, the lobster, the wine were all exquisite and recommended Le Petite Maison to ALL of my coworkers, foodies, and friends.
A MUST!

This was not a good meal
Between the service and the food I should have gone to a greek diner. All and all a waste of money but a few laughs seeing how not to run a trendy French restaurant in NYC. Save your money and time.

One of the worst I have been too, and I have been to alot!
I am a seasoned diner and have dined all over nyc. We went during the holidays with a group of 10. It was terrible, service was the worst, Cederic, was the waiter, he was pretty but that was about it. The food, was so tiny and not even cooked well. It was a disaster, we had to pour our own wine and water. The best thing was the bread in a bag they put on the table. It gets better. not only was the service the worst, the food not even good and almost microscopic! We just got our bill and they added another 40.00 to it. The bill was 249.00 for two including the unwarranted 20% shake down called a tip. Our credit card was charged 290.00. The place is nicely decorated. The crowd is a host of Euro trash, and it looked like alot of high paid escorts at the bar. I dont think this place will last long, not with what they are offering. Dont go!! Save your money, nothing was good.
