Lederhosen:
It’s refreshing to see a new bar pop up in the West Village whose sole mission isn’t to cater to the bourgeoisie with innovative cocktails and urbane appetizers. In this haus they serve up sausages, kraut, and steins brimming with German milk. Did we mention the beer? Lederhosen has carved out a veritable indoor beer garden where a theater once stood. The old stage has given way to picnic tables and wooden benches while a large skylight illuminates the simply decorated space. Travelers, Germans, German-Americans, and the like seek this place out with the same determination they use in seeking the latest David Hasselhoff album. During Oktoberfest standing room is a hot commodity as actual lederhosen, folk music, and serious drinking fill the room.
