Lexington Brass:
It seems like gourmet American eateries are popping up all over Manhattan lately, but if there's one that should not be missed, it's Lexington Brass, the new eat-and-drinkery from the masterminds behind Abe and Arthur's. Enter into the marble and—you guessed it—brass-clad bistro and leave your work day behind you. Sip on one of their well-balanced signature cocktails like the Employees Only (applejack, allspice dram and apple cider, $12) or try one of their six taps, which house local wines, kombucha tea, and both local and house-brewed beers. Their lobster mac 'n' cheese ($15) and buttermilk fried chicken ($23) will prove that you don't need to travel South for a good chunk o' soul-food. If you're more of an early bird than a night owl, there's good news: they serve breakfast, too. This is one place that definitely started off with a (delicious) bang.
