Libations 101: Longing for your suburban youth, filled with Friday evenings passed at mall food courts? By day, the FiDi’s Earl’s Court is a sleek food spot that's home to yummy soups and sandwiches from names like The Original Soupman and Earl of Sandwich, popular with lunching yuppies and old suits alike. By night, Earl’s presto-change-os into an after-work cocktail spot with Libations 101. Although there’s a lounge-like ambiance after dark, karaoke on Wednesdays, a DJ on Thursdays and Fridays, and dessert and wine pairings, it’s not a full-on Clark Kent to Superman sort of transition—you’re still in Earl’s Court. Luckily, the non-urban vibe continues with comparable prices, like $7.50 for your classic cocktails and $8.50 for your martinis and mojitos (we suggest staying with old standards like the Moscow Mule—vodka, fresh-squeezed lime juice, ginger beer and simple syrup, $7.50) and flat-screens to cheer on your home team. If you want real cocktails instead of your dorm’s jungle juice or a place in the FiDi that doesn’t require a banker’s budget and a Brooks Brothers suit, meet your new home away from home!
