Lilly Coogan’s doesn’t dabble in the typical trends or kitsch of the East Village. This bar revels in having nabbed bragging rights to serving up Guinness as the house specialty to an early 30ish crowd that needs a break from the high drama of neighboring bars. Coogan’s is ideal for those looking to actually have a conversation, unless it’s Wednesday evening, when they break out the karaoke machine. Darts and Big Buck Hunter II provide entertainment, and the happy hour from 4pm-8pm offers drinks at $1 off. Just remember to bring cash, because it’s the only legal tender accepted.
