Littleneck:
Funded by one of those annoying Kickstarter campaigns, this ironic nautical salute to the nearby Gowanus Canal proves the funding platform’s potential with tasty New England clam shack vittles and a friendly neighborhood vibe. The laid-back Long John Silver’s-esque interior features a salvaged ship, driftwood, and plenty of other flotsam and jetsam. A small menu includes well-priced seafood items such as clam chowder ($7) and a Maine lobster roll ($18). An equally small tap list is equally solid, offering eight seasonal craft beer options such as Ithaca’s Flower Power ($6-$7). A few more bottled options, a decent wine list and a full(-ish) bar, along with a lively clientele, are added bonuses. Littleneck is one spot that makes you glad Kickstarter has become more than just a place for old college buddies to bilk $10 out of you for a film they’ll never shoot.
