Los Feliz:
¡Dios mío! To call this stunning three-floored palace a mere "taqueria" is kind of a sick joke, because Los Feliz just might be the sexiest of all things Mexican since Selma Hayek. Sure the dark front room seems simple enough, with the guacamole ($8) and Mexican standards ($10-$18) quickly slung out in fast food wrappers—but wait! There are two more subterranean floors to explore. The first is a one-of-a-kind, cobblestone-floored drinking dungeon; the second, a swanky, high-ceilinged room where beautiful people sip cilantro-infused jalapeño margaritas ($11) on leather couches. If you still don't get the picture, know that Los Feliz shares its name with the L.A. neighborhood known to be “most like New York.” It's fitting, because any place that combines this level of style, grittiness, mystery and diversity can only be found in one place: La Gran Manzana.
