Lucy's Cantina Royale: We've all been stuck in the culinary purgatory that is Penn Station: lifeless hotdogs, stale donut holes, the idea of Taco Bell as “Mexican.” The beuno, er...good news is that the way out is around the corner, in the form of Lucy's Cantina Royale. It's a Cal-Mex diner / restaurant / sports / other stuff bar with Hooter-style hostesses and nautical decor (attention, skipper's wheels enthusiasts). Yet, while the theme might be a bit strip-mall-on-steroids, the food and drinks are much more down to earth, with simple fare like Yucca Fries ($4) and Roasted Chicken Burrito ($11). But it's the drinks that will make you love Lucy, as she greets everyone with a Frozen Mango Margarita (on the house!) before blending other cocktails like the Bloody Maria (Glass Cazadores, Jalapeno Pepper, Lemon Juice, Lucy’s Bloody Mary Blend, $10). And if that train is even more delayed than usual, skip the mixed stuff and start working your way through Lucy's expansive list of blanco, reposado, and anjeo tequilas. If the whole thing sounds a bit suburban, well, aren't you about to go there anyway?
