Annoying door policies are one thing on West 13th Street, but in a nabe that’s known for accessible dives and underground lounges, waiting 20 minutes in the snow to get past a jerky bouncer suddenly seems less reasonable. But if you decide to venture to Ludlow Manor and if you make the cut (good luck!), you'll be rewarded with utter luxury. This resplendent three story ultra-lounge (from the mind of Lady Gaga's ex, Luc Carl) channels Vegas’ craziest resorts, featuring two stories of Meatpacking-esque club scenes (complete with black chandeliers and plum-colored curtains), a Caesars-Palace-style swimming pool (fountains and all) and more palm trees than you’ll find on Rodeo Drive. Top it all off with a retractable glass roof that would fit into one of the showier Hamptons homes, and you’ve got a scenester haven. While it tends to attract some B&T types, you’ll also find Lavo-loving babes, European club-hoppers and the typical pseudo-hipster Beauty & Essex crowd. The venue is best enjoyed on weeknights when you can cuddle into the comfy seating and soak up good tunes and strong bevs without being trampled by wannabe fashionistas. Because yes—being stilletoed by a Louboutin hurts twice as much.
