Lulu Lounge:
The front dangling glass water fountain and central ponds and palms at swanky Tacu Tacu only make its downstairs karaoke haunt, Lulu, more of a Williamsburg non sequitur. A slightly grimy basement, Lulu has its share of regulars and is typically packed with a diverse clientele united in intoxication via microphone and alcohol. The result is a happy blend of attention whores strutting and dancing through the aisles and demure-but-drunk types half-heartedly mumbling incoherently into mics from their seats. Lyrics are projected onto large screens throughout and debauchery often ensues. The impossibly patient waitresses are a mix of their Coyote Ugly and Patriot Saloon counterparts, but seem somehow more dignified than both as they fulfill drink, food, and song orders with smiles.
