3Ten Lounge: Formerly in business as the low-lit, jazz-tastic Mannahatta, the 3Ten Lounge is aiming for a different type of Mannahattanite: NYU kids. In particular, NYU kids who flood the large space on weekends to awkwardly groove to whatever DJ is in effect. Thus, if you don't dance, or come on an off night, you might find acutally lounging at this Lounge a little uncomfortable. Visually, there is the occasional burst of glitz among the tried and true brick-and-dark-wood-and-teacandle-motif (we're stumped on how to describe that free-form statue at the front of the bar, but hey, that's what art critics are for). There are 2-for-1s during the week and all well drinks, beer (a by-the-book by-the-bottle selection) and wine are $4 before 8 P.M. If none of that excites you, hopefully you love dancing and domestic bottles. Otherwise, deep six 3Ten and try one of the other 1,000,000 bars in the neighborhood.
