Markt:
Despite the waffle-like imagery that saturates anything Belgian, Markt avoids the fluff with an authentic brasserie feel and a beer list that’ll have you chanting French in no time. The heavenly list is solely made up of Belgian creations that run the gamut from the rarely-tapped Leffe Brown to the toe-tingling Rochefort 10 (11.3% alcohol). Once you’ve got your beer in hand, take a moment to look around—all the wood, mirrors, and antique touches have come over straight from Belgium. In fact, the only thing missing from this place may be a corner table full of monochromatic monks talking about garden cultivation. Then again, that wouldn’t surprise us here.
I thought I loved this place before but now I adore it! This space is so fantastic and cozy. It is so great to see all the old familiar faces again and finally I got my moules and frites, I thought they were gone forever...I stopped by today to see outdoor seating and grabbed a Corsendonk hoping it might warm up enough to drink outside. Oh well, next week.

Probably the only place in New York City where I've found Leffe Brown on tap. Amazing selection of Belgian beers in a truly authentic setting. If you're in the neighborhood, don't even think about passing this place up.
