Seems like the only thing missing from this real-life incarnation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are the Oompa Loompas...oh, and Charlie. Israeli chocolate gurus have brought this international restaurant chain to the United States, and soon enough, to a mall near you. Almost any drink you can think of turns to chocolate here, including hot and cold cocktails like the oddly named Maragnan, and Colima, to chocolate stout beer. Despite the schticky-ness and kitsch that permeates this place, guys, this is the perfect place to bring your girlfriend during one of those "moody" weeks. And while you’ll likely be fighting smooshy couples and tourists for a seat, it fits perfectly into the NYC food niche of the moment: indulgent one-food-themed restaurants. Chocoholics may indulge, but don't expect a hip New York scene to follow.
Chocolate Heaven yes... but they have the best cokctails too. The newest one I heard of is Max’s Lover Martini... I haven't tried it yet - but I can't wait!
