Well one thing’s for sure…Next Iron Chef runner-up Jehangir Mehta’s new project in the Duane Hotel is certainly not a metaphor for boredom. The restaurant packs a powerful one-two-three punch, catering to ultra-hip thirty-somethings with a bar, lounge and dining room, all in a space the size of your one bedroom apartment. Come early for a seat at the four-person bar, and knock back a signature cocktail ($7), like the Prosecco Lychee Martini or the Coconut Chili Fizz, both made with elements of their equally famous frozen desserts. Or choose from their ever-growing selection of wines-by-the-glass ($9-$12), and challenge your friend to a game of chess on a graphically contemporary board in their small lounge area. You may have just come in for a drink, but it won’t be long before the exotic smells permeating the air bring you to their communal tables to indulge in one of Mehta’s unique creations ($9-17). And with dishes like Pop Rock Oysters ($9) that can be made Vegan or Gluten Free to order, we repeat—you won’t get bored.
