A is for alcohol; B is for Budweiser; C is for cheap; D is for dive, and thus begins the alphabet which encompasses the straightforward offerings and bare-essentials attitude at Milano’s. It’s a mystery as to why this spot was donned with an Italian name, because the only thing reminiscent of the old country here is the cash-only policy. The JFK tribute on the wall and County Kerry sign point to a definite red-headed heritage. It doesn’t matter if you’re an Italian goomba or Irish lad, though, so long as you carry loads of singles in your pocket during Milano’s happy hour (4pm-7pm), featuring $2 Buds and $1 off all drinks. A place to just sit and have a drink while staring at the wall is hard to come by these days, but Milano’s serves it up on a platter. A big, divey platter.
Best bar in nyc for an early drink(opens 8am),a happy hour jar or a night-cap, and its cheap as hell, bartenders are saints who put up with the crazy regulars who are very friendly,not like the grouches you usually get at dive bars.All round great bar,with a great selection of delivery menus,if you want to waste your money on food!
