Miss Lily's: You might not have the time or means to fly out to Jamaica on a whim, so stop in Miss Lily’s instead. Here, the beautiful staff is friendly, the music is reggae and life is irie. The restaurant is serving Jerk Chicken ($19) to a mixed crowd of young professionals and downtown fashionistas, but anyone with a more adventurous palate need only delve deeper into the menu. Sit in either the booths up front or under the disco ball in the back to try the Jaquitos (3 mini tacos, $9) of which ackee and saltfish, callaloo and plaintain, or curried lobster are available. If it’s too cliché to wash it down with a Red Stripe, go for a “Tempted to Touch” cocktail (plum wine, sake and fresh mint, $12) or Miss Lily’s Special Shot (soju and plum wine, $8). Island living on the isle of Manhattan? Yeah, mon!
