Mister H @ Mondrian SoHo: If you’re one of the few good-lookin’, stiletto-wearin’ dames privileged enough to snooker your way past the velvet ropes and into this tiny, cozy speakeasy, you’ll quickly realize why it’s so hard to get into. The sexy décor, alight with red and black accents, unused stripper poles, plush couches and a collection of oddly alluring bird cages is an antiquated feast for the eyes. Swim through the sultry, sweet-smelling haze of incense to the bar and prepare to be treated like royalty—after all, if you’re inside, you probably are royalty. If you aren’t already in the mood for playtime after five minutes in this sexy den, you can always try the horney goat weed shot ($13), prepared with a Chinese herbal aphrodisiac. Arrive Monday through Friday between 5pm and 10pm for sultry snacks like seaweed salad ($15) or cauliflower fritters ($12) during their new happy hour, where drinks are “moderately” priced at $14. Dress to impress and empty your bank account—it may just be worth seeing the inside of this place for yourself.
