MOLE:
Taste of Home isn’t just an award-winning magazine: at Mole, it’s an ethos. Executive Chef Guadalupe Elizalde grills, sautées, fries, bakes (not to mention beautifully plates) an impressive array of classic regional Mexican dishes. Farm to table? Pffft. More like Grandma’s recipe cards to table. Enjoy freshly made margs rimmed with chili-lime salt ($10) with friends on the sidewalk or sit down for a more substantial meal with a date in the eclectically trinketed, barn-yard chic atmosphere inside. Start the night off with their panacean guacamole ($10-$15), capable of erasing the most stressful of days, and follow it up with a plate of sizzling fajitas ($18-$25) to share with a group (oh wait, you won’t want to share). When in doubt, always go for ‘Lupe’s daily specials which are impossible to disappoint. Just make sure you don’t go overboard on their killer selection of mezcals and tequilas ($8-$25), lest you wake up to discover a mysterious charge on your Visa for round-trip airfare to Mexico City (the food won’t be as good there).
