In the market for a doctor? Come into Murphy’s Law and you may find yourself surrounded by them. This dive is situated in the middle of the Upper East Side’s hospital row, and it’s not unusual for the crowd to consist of “Grey’s Anatomy” types putting down a few beers and a late meal. Tucked away from the beaten paths of First and York Avenues, Murphy’s occupies a space that has been a watering hole since the days of prohibition. With only nine years at this address, Murphy’s is still relatively new, but its engraved ceiling lends a library feel matched by its quiet comfort. Like a few other pubs in the neighborhood, Murphy’s doesn’t offer happy hour, but the McDreamy quotient alone is worth a visit.
Boring atmosphere, bland & meager attempt at food (friend actually got food poisoning). Wanted to like it, but can't....so many other bars in the area for a good time.
