Murray's Cheese Bar: The one bad thing about iconic Murray’s Cheese Shop is that you eventually have to leave. Perhaps no more, with the creation of Murray’s Cheese Bar. Set three doors down from the shop, the Cheese Bar is a small but full-service bar serving food, drink and, of course, plenty of cheese. That obviously extensive cheese menu is divided into fresh, soft-ripened, washed rind, semi-firm, firm and stinky blue (prices varying). Or, if you can’t decide, you can opt for the “cheesemonger’s choice” (3 or $12 or 5 for $15). That choice can extend to meats too, of which there are also many, like the Creminelli Wild Boar Salami or Salumeria Biellese Pepperoni. Craving something a little more substantial? There’s plenty of sandwich “melts" ($12-$16), cheesy pastas ($12) and even salads ($9-$14), and you can bet that’s all gonna be washed down with glass of wine ($6 and up) or a craft beer, both tap ($7) and bottled ($6 and up). OK, so you do have to leave eventually (1 AM), but not until you’ve had enough cheese to be rolled out of there.
