Ngam:
Entering Ngam feels a bit like you walked in through the back door of a restaurant—the smell of steaming Pad Thai greets you like an old friend as you pass by chefs working furiously behind the marble bar. Pull up a chair at one of the tables (beneath homey silver bulbs), and you’ll have the distinct feeling of being in someone else’s kitchen—in a good way. Take in the exposed piping, rustic brick walls and floor-to-ceiling chalkboard specials while perusing their drink menu of refreshing soju cocktails like the Snow White ($9) with blended lychee and mint. Weekdays, Ngam’s seasonal lunch menu offers specialties like the Thai Burger with Kabocha Fries ($10) and weekend brunch presents hybrid yummies like Cha Yen Brulee French Toast ($12)—a sweet-tooth’s delight. Ngam’s dinner menu is also delish but a bit pricier, presenting traditional appetizers, noodle dishes and entrées like the Grilled Black Tiger Prawn Pad Thai ($26). No matter when you choose to stop by, this organic, non-greasy comfort food is definitely worth a trip (unless, of course, you opt for delivery...in which case they’ve still got you covered!)
